Coral Comb, 1865, tortoiseshell, coral, photo: @Museo Poldi Pezzoli. The comb is made of tortoiseshell and is adorned with a garland of flowers and fruit made of coral. It is part of an evening set that also contains a coral necklace, bracelet, and earrings. It was made by jewelers from Torre del Greco, a town in the province of Naples, where this material is still worked.
