AJF Live with Helen Drutt

October 16, 2024

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Art Jewelry Forum has expanded its efforts to connect more directly with the jewelry community by regularly hosting live chats online. These feature artist studio visits, talks with gallerists about shows they’re hosting, interviews with curators and authors, and other programming tied to various jewelry weeks from around the globe. We record all these programs and post them on our website.

Today, AJF teamed up with the Metal Museum and the esteemed collector, educator, and gallerist for a virtual walk-through of Bracelets, Bangles & Cuffs: 1948–2024. Drutt discusses the exhibition she curated and the wide-ranging approach artists have taken to innovate this singular object. The remarkable group of contemporary bracelets from her collection and others reveals the wide-ranging creativity of artists working in this timeless jewelry form. The exhibition is on view at the Metal Museum through November 17, 2024. Carissa Hussong, the museum’s director, joined us to talk about the ways the museum is considering jewelry in its programs and collections.
