Mònica Gaspar is a curator, writer, and lecturer, investigating craft and design as critical and reflective practices. She has also specialized in contemporary jewelry, curating, writing, and lecturing at several academies and international conferences. In 2001, she curated the first public collection of contemporary jewelry in Spain, hosted by the Museum of Applied Arts, Barcelona. Recently curated exhibitions include Metadomestic (Landesgalerie, Linz, and MIMA, Middlesbrough, 2012) and the selection for Schmuck (Munich, IHM Fair, 2010). Currently, she is a research associate at the Institute for Critical Theory at the Zurich University of the Arts and a visiting lecturer at the jewelry, fashion, and accessories department at the HEAD Geneva University of Art and Design.
