Philip Clarke

"A dedicated wearer and craft collector" is a recent description of Philip Clarke. The inaugural director of Objectspace, New Zealand's craft- and design-focused public gallery, from 2004 to 2015, he was until 2023 the Chair of the Blumhardt Foundation, which aims to advance the craft sector. One of the judges of the 2016 AJF Artist Award and a contributor to the landmark publication Crafting Aotearoa, he was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to arts governance in 2023.
