STILL/TODAVÍA, BY IRIS EICHENBERG & JIMENA RÍOS
This is the first in a series of books exploring how jewelry transforms our lives. Anne and Donald were together 37 years. Throughout their time together, Donald gave Anne jewelry during their travels, and commissioned rings and necklaces for her—jewels that served as evidence of their life and love. Since Anne’s death, Donald wears her jewelry almost every day. To wear the jewelry of a loved one is to carry a tangible substance we can hold onto. Book launch and lecture: March 9, 11:30 a.m., Cranbrook Art Museum deSalle Auditorium. Info.

SEE DRAG & DROP #3 DURING MUNICH’S JEWELRY WEEK
At Werkstatt Gallery – Zentnerstr. 3 – 80798. Opening: 03/12 : 6:30 till 8:30 pm hours: 03/ 12 – 14 : 1 till 6:30 pm 03/15: 10 till 12 am. Drag and Drop is an ongoing project masterminded by three friends, Isabelle Busnel, Sebastien Carré, and Juan Riusech, born from their desire to explore their respective and very diverse creative universes. For the first edition, they drew inspiration by copying with their own materials and techniques some of their respective iconic artworks. The second edition was about some historic jewels they chose. The third edition will be exhibited during Munich Jewellery week and this time they have chosen artworks by Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, and Joan Mitchell to nurture their imagination. This gets them out of their comfort zone. They get to know each other better, but above all to realize how personal and difficult it is to imitate someone’s else work with different kinds of materials and techniques.
