Elizabeth Essner is a certified member of the Appraisers Association of America. She is USPAP certified and can provide appraisals for insurance, estate tax and charitable donations.

A specialist in twentieth century design for nearly a decade, Elizabeth Essner began evaluating modern decorative arts focusing on studio craft as an independent appraiser, in 2009. She was previously an auction house specialist at Rago Arts and Auction Center in Lambertville, New Jersey, where she dealt with American studio material – from art jewelry and ceramics to furniture – in addition to general twentieth century design. She has also worked at modern and contemporary design galleries in New York. She received her MA in design history from the Bard Graduate Center for Decorative Arts, Design History and Material Culture in New York and her BA in American studies from Boston University. Before she worked in decorative arts, she worked at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston.
