Lucy Boermans

Auckland-based creative maker and Media Design School tutor Lucy Boermans fell into the world of jewelry somewhat by accident. In 2010, after a longstanding career in television design, Lucy retrained part-time at Glasgow School of Art and Cardonald College in Glasgow. Fascinated by textile design and fabric manipulation, Lucy presently makes lasercut pieces that are reflective of the particular take on Art Deco of her native country.

A recent participant of Opening Night, a curatorial program sponsored by Objectspace, Lucy hopes to continue her writing and curatorial work with an ever-present love of wool, wire, and all things sustainable.
