Announcing the 2018 AJF Artist Award

International Prize in Art Jewelry to Accept Applications in September

By

San Francisco, California, USA–AJF is pleased to announce the 2018 Artist Award guidelines and jurors. Applications will be accepted starting September 1, 2017.

The AJF Artist Award is offered through AJF’s award and grant program and celebrates innovation in jewelry by a young artist. Through the AJF Artist Award, AJF hopes to recognize new and exciting work that will direct the future development of art jewelry.

AJF’s award and grant program is made possible through the generosity of individuals who believe funding art creation is an important way to show their appreciation for the arts. This year, a fantastic group of five jewelry collectors and enthusiasts from across the United States has come together to fund this opportunity to commend a young artist’s work. They are Edie Nadler and Barbara Waldman, as well as AJF board members Susan Kempin, Marion Fulk, and Linda Peshkin.

This year’s jury includes three distinguished professionals in the field: Swedish collector Inger Wästberg, Australian curator Su san Cohn, and American artist Lynn Batchelder.

Ambitious contemporary jewelry artists age 35 and under are invited to apply for this international prize in contemporary art jewelry, which includes US$7,500 for the winner, as well as an exhibition during Schmuck in March 2018 for the winner and four finalists.

The deadline to apply is November 15, 2017, at 11:59 p.m., Mountain Time Zone (Denver, Colorado, USA). More information and complete guidelines can be found here.
