Mill Valley, CA, October 29, 2011 – The Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) invites the submission of grant applications for its 2012 award cycle. Multiple awards are possible up to a total of $5000. The purpose of this AJF grant award is to encourage and promote activities consistent with the mission of AJF and promote art jewelry to the broader community. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, exhibitions of art jewelry and exhibition catalogs.

Mill Valley, CA, October 29, 2011 – The Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) invites the submission of grant applications for its 2012 award cycle. Multiple awards are possible up to a total of $5000. The purpose of this AJF grant award is to encourage and promote activities consistent with the mission of AJF and promote art jewelry to the broader community. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, exhibitions of art jewelry and exhibition catalogs.
The award competition is open to museums, universities and other non-profit exhibition spaces and organizations that are tax-exempt in the United States under Section 501-C-3 of the IRS Code. Awards will not be made for research and development or for exhibitions opening more than two years beyond award of the grant.
Deadline for submission is March 15, 2012. Information about the submission process and eligibility requirements for the AJF grant award program may be found after December 1, 2011 on the AJF website: www.artjewelryforum.org
Winner of the 2010 exhibition grant award was Perry A Price, Assistant Curator of Exhibitions and Collections Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, Massachusetts. The award supported the production of a catalog for the exhibition Atelier Janiyé and the Legacy of Miyé Matsukata. The 2011 exhibition grant award helped fund a catalog for Geography, an exhibition of work from AJF member galleries, curated by Susan Cummins and Mike Holmes and shown in May 2011 at the Society of North American Goldsmiths Conference in Seattle and in November 2011 at SOFA Chicago.
Founded in 1997, AJF is a non-profit organization with the mission to advocate the field of contemporary art jewelry by promoting education, appreciation and support for contemporary art jewelry. The AJF grant program was established in 2006.
