AJF is now hiring a Membership + Programs Coordinator.

Title: Membership + Programs Coordinator
Status: Part-time/Non-exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: Typically M–F, 30 hrs/wk
Location: Remote; some domestic and international travel may be required

MISSION & OVERVIEW
Art Jewelry Forum (AJF) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in 1997. AJF actively advocates for the international field of contemporary art jewelry and the talented artists who create it. We do so through education, discourse, appreciation, and support for the field. 

We publish dynamic original content from the field’s most fascinating voices to inform, educate, and encourage critical thinking and intelligent discourse. We aim to stimulate the marketplace and increase the knowledge of consumers, artists, curators, and gallerists through organized events and informative articles, interviews, and opinions in our online magazine. We also provide financial support to artists, speakers, and writers through grants, and payment for commissioned articles. Above all, our goal is to give visibility and value to contemporary jewelry.

POSITION SUMMARY
AJF seeks a 30 hrs/wk part-time Membership + Programs Coordinator for immediate hire. The Membership + Programs Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with AJF’s Editor and AJF’s dedicated board members and volunteers.

The Membership + Programs Coordinator will operate with great attention to detail to ensure smooth daily operations that support AJF’s membership (45%), programs (40%), and administration (15%). The Membership + Programs Coordinator will support the ED and the board to administer AJF’s membership program and realize a robust calendar of mission-driven programs that engage the field and beyond. This role will be responsible for daily operations critical to the operations of AJF and will support long-term projects and planning. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Membership (45%)

  • Support AJF’s Membership Committee, scheduling, attending, and recording minutes of all committee meetings
  • Act as the chief administrator for Network for Good database, including regular record-keeping and reporting
  • Lead AJF’s membership registration and renewal processes and campaigns, including timely correspondence with AJF members and stakeholders
  • Act as AJF’s membership benefits liaison, helping individual and institutional members access specialized benefits based on member level
  • Assist ED with donor correspondence, gift recognition, and AJF fundraising campaigns

Programs (40%)

  • Support AJF’s Events and Trips Committees, scheduling, attending, and recording minutes of all committee meetings
  • Assist in planning AJF trips, events, and in-person meetups, including overseeing timelines, budgets, vendor relations, and logistics 
  • Create and oversee all event and trip registrations in Network for Good, including sending invoices, creating forms, and corresponding with registrants
  • Assist with promotion, communication, and scheduling of artists for AJF Live programs
  • Assist with marketing and communication of all AJF programs, including the maintenance of a program marketing calendar

Administration (15%)

  • Support the ED with invoicing and record-keeping related to programs
  • Collaborate with ED and Editor to maintain internal and external calendars 
  • Update monthly statistics and metrics for committee and Board meetings

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in a cultural or arts institution, nonprofit management, program management, or fundraising
  • High technological proficiency requires demonstrated experience working with donor, membership, or database software. The ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, email, calendars/scheduling, word processing, and web-based software, as well as comfort and familiarity with social media platforms, is required to perform this role. Experience with Google Suite and Zoom is preferred 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minor supervision, be proactive, and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to multitask, plan, and execute several ongoing projects simultaneously 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to communicate professionally with a global stakeholder group
  • Must be available to work some nights and weekends as needed
  • Belief in AJF’s mission
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the US

Salary range: $23–$26/hr for 30 hrs/wk

Benefits: Art Jewelry Forum maintains a friendly and flexible work environment. Staff works from home, with daily phone and video conference meetings. The organization closes the week between Christmas and New Year and enjoys 8 annual paid holidays. Paid sick and vacation time. This position does not qualify for health benefits.
