Heather Gibson

Heather Gibson resides in Philadelphia where she is art collections manager for the University of Pennsylvania. She also teaches history of modern design at Drexel University, a course that traces design history from the eighteenth century to the present. Her curatorial work includes Patterns of Consumption (Temple University 2012) and the forthcoming Duality (Philadelphia Art Alliance 2013). Previously, she served as a research assistant at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, focusing on twentieth-century studio craft. She writes on contemporary studio craft and has published and spoken about textiles made by Hmong refugee women from Laos.
